‘Once you start, it's addictive’ - Evert runs Olympic marathon for amateurs

Two years ago, at a running competition in Paris, Evert qualified to run the Olympic course for amateurs in 2024. A dream for any sports fanatic.

“For the very first time, amateurs were allowed to run the Olympic course. For that, you had to run a qualifying race in Paris a few years ago. There were almost one million applicants, but only 40,000 tickets,” Evert explains. The course was identical to that of the real athletes, only it was run at night.

Evert practices triathlons and is therefore somewhat used to it. Still, the 42km run was tough with a lot of hills. “It took me 3 hours and 8 minutes, so I didn't break any personal records,” Evert laughed. “But it was great to breathe in the atmosphere once and run past countless supporters, encouraged by a DJ.”

Evert also tries to join the Gosselin sports initiatives every time. He is a fan of sports and exercise. “Once you start, it's addictive!”

Gosselin signs the Declaration on equal opportunities for women and men in the transport sector
