Weighing your containers at Gosselin Logistics

On July 1st 2016 an amended container weight verification regulation will be introduced globally and will apply to all exporting countries. This new regulation was outlined by the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) under the request of The International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Therefore Gosselin Logistics’ facilities will be equipped with calibrated and certified scales to accommodate for the need of weighing containers early July. We encourage you to identify in advance how your cargo will be weighed.

We are also working with other service providers in the Port of Antwerp to weigh full containers. Due to the limited number of companies providing this service, some delays may be expected at the weighing stations. We suggest to book in advance.

Practical information about Verified Gross Mass (VGM)
We will accept the VGM in writing from the shipper either by using the VGM form or the shippers’ own form. Transmission of the data can be done by mail or fax to our operational export departments. Gosselin Logistics has adapted its IT system to transmit the information by EDI to the different carriers.

For more information please contact your usual local contact person within the company.

Thanks to a solar panel installation of 1.5 MW from ENGIE, Gosselin is becoming a more sustainable logistics player

ENGIE installed a 1.5 MW solar panel installation at the Gosselin site in Antwerp. This installation of more than 3,000 solar panels will allow them to reduce their CO2 emissions by 535 tons per year, equivalent to the annual emissions of 268 diesel cars.Gosselin currently launched a new trial project combining the usual road transport with train groupage in Europe. It is the perfect combination between handling large volumes, less reloads, less damage risks, and focusing on sustainability at the same time.

Stepping outside to stretch your legs in the afternoon. It sounds almost impossible in Deurne, but Hank Guns has been doing it for over 20 years, discovering some surprising routes along the way. He's a fan of the initiative at Gosselin to focus more on movement and gladly shares his walks with colleagues.
