Do you know the best places for expats?

The expat community Internations released its annual survey listing the best and worst places for expats in 2016. The 188 page survey, called Expat Insider, offers an in-depth analysis of expat life in more than 60 countries across the globe. More than 14,000 respondents took part in the survey that ranks common expat destinations using five indices: quality of life, ease of settling in, working abroad, family life and personal finance.

The top 10 of expat destinations

The winner of this year’s survey is Taiwan, followed closely by Malta. Other European countries in the top 10 are Austria (8), Luxembourg (9) and the Czech Republic (10).
The Czech Republic also ranks very high (second place) in the Family Life index, which takes into account subcategories like availability of childcare and education, cost of childcare and education, quality of education and family well-being.
The first rank in the Ease of settling in index goes to Mexico, just like last year. It successfully defends its reputation as the go-to place for a warm welcome.

The Expat insider survey can be downloaded integrally from the Internations website. Have a great reading experience.
