The best trip of my life

“We had dreamt of going to Mongolia for a long time,” Patrick tells us. “For me and Marianne, it was this mythical, unspoiled country that was just waiting for us to be explored. We spent a year and a half making preparations for this trip. We took the cover off the 2CV, tinkered with the engine and did some work on the body, getting the car ready for the long journey. In early June we left.”

From their home in France, the pair traversed Europe, driving through Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Moldavia and Ukraine before making their way deeper into Russia: Moscow and Yekaterinburg all the way to Irkutsk on the border with Mongolia. They then continued on to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

They kept a travel blog on the road so that their friends and family could follow their adventures: http://ma2pat.over-blog.com/

Happy with Gosselin

“On the way back, near Warsaw and with 20,500 kilometers on the odometer, our trip unfortunately came to an abrupt end,” Patrick continues. “The engine gave out because of the low-quality gas we had to fill the car up with. Our insurance company helped us with repatriation, but initially we wanted to have the car repaired where it had broken down, and then pick it up again to continue our journey home. We decided to contact Gosselin to get our car back safely. I was very pleased with their services. It may not have been the cheapest way, but in retrospect, it was the best solution.”

“Once the 2CV has been fixed and is back in tip-top shape, we are definitely going to go on a new adventure. This time the trip will probably be shorter. The trip to Mongolia was unforgettable and without a doubt the best one I’ve ever taken!”

Thanks to a solar panel installation of 1.5 MW from ENGIE, Gosselin is becoming a more sustainable logistics player

ENGIE installed a 1.5 MW solar panel installation at the Gosselin site in Antwerp. This installation of more than 3,000 solar panels will allow them to reduce their CO2 emissions by 535 tons per year, equivalent to the annual emissions of 268 diesel cars.Gosselin currently launched a new trial project combining the usual road transport with train groupage in Europe. It is the perfect combination between handling large volumes, less reloads, less damage risks, and focusing on sustainability at the same time.

A short walk outdoors every afternoon

Stepping outside to stretch your legs in the afternoon. It sounds almost impossible in Deurne, but Hank Guns has been doing it for over 20 years, discovering some surprising routes along the way. He's a fan of the initiative at Gosselin to focus more on movement and gladly shares his walks with colleagues.
