Gosselin Logistics commits to a more sustainable supply chain
With the acquisition of Delcatrans, Gosselin gained two e-trucks to their vehicle fleet. By using e-trucks for last-mile delivery to its warehouses, Gosselin makes its supply chain more sustainable.
The electric trucks are the first of their kind for Gosselin. While vehicles for freight are lagging somewhat behind those for passengers, these too will be replaced more and more by electric vehicles. "I'm sure we will purchase more E-trucks in the future, but this is a great opportunity to gain experience and explore the opportunities electric trucks offer," says Gosselin's Group Director Road.
After a pilot project with test containers, TVH has decided to import all their containers in a multimodal way from now on. The two electric trucks will shuttle between the Gosselin Terminal West in Wielsbeke and TVH's warehouses. But the collaboration does not end there. TVH also wants to continue focusing on sustainable solutions in the future. “Gosselin is an important partner in this,” concludes Christophe Decaluwe, Regional Traffic Manager at TVH.
