On a mission

On December 7 and 8, the second annual meeting of the Crosstrades network will be held in Shanghai. This network’s aim is to promote trade with the African continent. “It will be an exciting two-day event featuring interesting speakers,’ Geert De Wilde says. “The program includes presentations from a major Chinese e-commerce player and the African Chamber of Commerce, among others. We want to keep our finger on the pulse of this rapidly evolving economy, so we can quickly respond to new trends and developments. The central question to which Gosselin hopes to find an answer is how to strengthen our position in the African interior. The knowledge we gather will be incorporated into our commercial strategy.”

“After that, we will travel on to Seoul,” Walter Van Mechelen continues, “and then participate in an international trade mission organized by the City of Antwerp from December 10 through 17. Together with around 60 other companies as well as delegates representing the city and the Port of Antwerp, we will visit a few telecom giants and other organizations. We will also make initial contact with companies we are going to partner with in the future. Naturally, we are also curious to see who will be setting up a presence in Asia in the near future since these are all potential customers for Gosselin.”

Did you know... ?

...that Antwerp and Shanghai are sister cities and have so far enjoyed 32 years of close cooperation? Shanghai tops the global port rankings, making it an attractive partner for Antwerp, the second most important European port.

Three Gosselin Teams at the Young Forward Cup

With no fewer than three teams (FC Gossy, FC Antwerp, and FC Giants), Gosselin was well represented at the recent Young Forward Cup. What stood out was the great mix of blue-collar and white-collar workers from different departments, who all gave their best both on and off the field.
