At Gosselin, we use the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to guide our business. We have selected specific goals where we can make a real difference.
For us, it is about taking action and being transparent about our progress. We focus on results that matter for our industry and the environment.
SDG 3: Good Health & Wellbeing
Ensuring a focused and sustainable workforce through specialized stress management workshops and training in work-life balance.
Guaranteeing service reliability via the group-wide RE-ACT 2025 program (safe workplace), ergonomics training, and the certified Gosselin Sports plan.
Demonstrating our commitment as a global partner through the annual Green Week and international community support for vulnerable groups.
SDG 5: Gender Equality
Signatory of the Declaration on Equal Opportunities in the transport sector, supported by our updated Human Rights & Inclusion Policy.
Ensuring a representative management team with women in key management roles.
SDG 7: Affordable & Clean Energy
Powering operations with solar panels and gasless heating. All new facilities are built with a sustainable mindset, featuring green areas and water-permeable surfacing.
Reducing transport emissions through the deployment of E-trucks, the use of bio-fuel, and group-wide energy-saving campaigns (e.g. turning the light, heat and computer off when you leave).
Minimizing waste and environmental impact through proactive waste sorting and BREEAM certification for key strategic sites.
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities
Reducing our urban footprint by relocating offices to city centers (e.g. Rome, Zagreb) to facilitate green commuting via public transport, cycling, and walking.
Optimizing transport through groupage shipments, reducing both CO2 emissions and costs for our customers. Our Inza-site and Genk warehouses are BREEAM-certified, showing our focus on sustainable and green buildings
Driving a structural modal shift to inland waterways (hubs in Antwerp, Genk, and Rekkem) and rail transport to ensure more sustainable and efficient supply chains.
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Production
Reducing road congestion and emissions through our European dispatch department, which optimizes truck loads and replaces individual trips with regular weekly services across Europe.
Minimizing waste by promoting paper blankets and ensuring all branches are equipped with sustainable packaging solutions (Notabrownbox.).
Providing European rail shipments as a high-capacity alternative to road transport. While transit times may be longer, this significantly reduces costs and the environmental footprint per shipment (one freight train usually carries 30-50 carriages).
SDG 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions
Ensuring the highest standards of operational integrity through ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and EcoVadis recognition, supported by our membership in Sedex.
Guaranteeing data protection and professional ethics through our group-wide ISO 27001 certification.
Maintaining global trust through our network of FAIM Plus certified offices (including BE, NL, FR, UK, IT, CH, and DE).
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
Fostering local impact through long-term partnerships, including ICT donations to Close the Gap and annual support for Levensloop (charity walk against cancer).
Promoting employee wellbeing and green commuting through strategic partnerships with SportOase and a structural bike lease program.
