Blood donation as a team event
Christmas is often the time of year to pay some extra attention to those who are less fortunate. But the Romanian team puts a lot of effort into charity all year around. In 2023 they focused on several projects that all came to fruition. Among those projects was the mutual blood donation for an eight-year old child with leukemia.
“I heard about this case from a friend of mine and immediately shared it with my colleagues”, Constantin-Gabriel says. “Once we had an idea of the amount of people who met all the criteria for blood donation, our manager created a schedule. We were fourteen people total and split up into four groups. That way nobody had to go to the hospital alone, and there was always someone in the office.”
Despite some colleagues’ fear of needles, everything went well. The family of the ill child was surprised that so many people rushed to their aid, but expressed their gratitude through the mutual friend. “It’s only a twenty-minute process for us, but can mean a big difference for someone else. Everybody was willing to help”, Constantin-Gabriel concludes.
