To work by bike
On Friday, June 2nd, everyone who came to work by bike was treated to a healthy breakfast. But even non-cyclists who wanted to test the latest electric bikes on a closed circuit signed up. Together with B2Bike, partner of the bike leasing plan, Gosselin tries to convince colleagues to pedal to work occasionally. In total, there were 109 participants.
Gosselin aims to achieve the "sports company" label created by Sport Flanders by 2023. Emphasizing more on physical activity and getting as many colleagues to exercise as possible is the message. The first edition of the "bike to work" event fits within this larger initiative.
There are still sports initiatives in the pipeline, but besides that, Gosselin also encourages employees to participate in various sporting events outside office hours. Investing in the health of employees is an investment that pays off easily. People feel fit and healthy, experience less stress, and are therefore more productive.
Requirements
At Gosselin, you must have been employed for at least six months before qualifying for the lease plan, and you must cover 20% of your commuting with the purchased bike. Wearing a helmet and a fluorescent vest is mandatory, and you also receive a maintenance budget and insurance on top of that.
